The FAI conference, held in Reggio Emilia on February 7 and 8, supports
the initiatives launched by the Antimilitarist Assembly four years after
the start of the Russo-Ukrainian War, to be held from February 21 to 24.
These initiatives will focus not only on opposition to the war and
rearmament and conscription policies, but also on emphasizing the
centrality of desertion as a decisive method for halting wars. Campaigns
will be launched to provide concrete support to deserters from all wars,
in the belief that desertion can lead to experiences of true
revolutionary defeatism.
The conference also supports the initiatives launched by the
Antimilitarist Assembly from March 23 to 30, related to the fight
against the use of the railway network for military purposes and the
huge expenditures for upgrading sections of the network for military
transport while passenger transport is left in disarray.
