Greetings,

We are writing to inform you of the happenings of the afternoon and evening. We
were able to occupy the office of the vice chancellor for student affairs til
around 4:30 pm during which time the CU police deparment came in to try and
negotiate. Our first request was that we be allowed to spend the night in the
office with security, it was turned down by the admistration. We then
negotiated for Jean Kim to come in and ask us to leave and that we would exit
with a police escort. We waited around and Jean Kim came by to ask us to leave
the building during which time she was drowned out by the chanting of the
students in the office. Throughout the day much support was shown to us by
different, students, faculty and staff that stopped in. By days end we were
stronger and greater in numbers. We eventually gathered our bags and things and
locked hands and walked out in a line chanting that we will be back. The police
proceeded to escort us to the front of Regents where we t!
hen formed a
    circle and continued

We had decided while inside that if we were not allowed to stay in the
building that we would sleep directly outside the building. Once outside, we
dispersed to gather our gear and to get ready for the overnight stay. (time
5:15pm)

We met up again at 6:30 pm and people began arriving, throughout the
evening people arrived to show support and many brought food, sleeping bags,
coffee, drinks, and blankets for the students. We were very grateful for the
support shown to us. Channel 9 news did a live on site report from the regents
and gave our story much air time as we are told by many who showed up after the
news cast.

Our numbers have grown, and we are happy about that but the fight is far
from over. In the morning we plan on re-entering the building and again
continuing our sit in, around 11:45 we are planning on mobilizing students for a
march to the University Memorial Center (UMC) for a speak out in the north
dining area from 12 noon to 1:00 pm.

Tonight we are just getting prepared for the evening, temperatures are
expected to drop and a snow storm is supposed to move in within the next few
hours. But we will remain and will continue to express and show our fight for
the cause.

                        in peace.........
