On Thursday, October 8, the lawsuits of the two dismissed employees of 
Documento, which they had filed after their vindictive and abusive 
dismissals by their employer, Kostas Vaxevanis, are expected to be 
heard. In fact, the dismissal of the 8-year employee and former union 
representative was accompanied by an unseemly slanderous attack on his 
person, where the employer set up an entire conspiracy aimed at his 
moral and professional extermination, in order to hide the vindictive 
nature of his dismissal due to his union activity. Just 24 hours later, 
his colleague, who works at the journalistic site "Pandora's Box", a 
website of the Documento Media group, was also dismissed because she 
"dared" to defend him against the conspiracy set up against him by the 
employer. These latest incidents are added to a long list of dismissals 
at Documento (five in just the last year), which express Vaxevanis's 
punitiveness and vindictiveness. He does not hesitate to resort to any 
means against employees who resist employer blackmail and demand better 
wages and decent working conditions, against those who stand by their 
colleagues, fighting collectively against employer unscrupulousness and 
terrorism. His efforts were fruitless, since the decision issued by the 
Single-Member Court of First Instance of Athens in September 2025 
declared the terminations of the
contracts of the first three colleagues invalid, due to their union 
action and the solidarity they showed towards their dismissed 
colleagues. Thus, the Court recognized the employer's vindictiveness 
towards the participation of employees in union and collective 
procedures within the workplace and the plan of Documento's publisher, 
Kostas Vaxevanis, to "get rid" of employees he did not like within a 
short period of time - through lies, slander and attempted moral and 
professional extermination - because they resisted his anti-labor 
practices and demanded better working conditions was fully exposed.
Recently, the continuous escalating attack of the State and the bosses 
on the social base has been demonstrated, which has as a prerequisite 
the crushing of any social and class resistance, wherever it is 
attempted to manifest itself, as demonstrated by the latest labor 
restructurings which criminalize labor mobilizations, union action and 
strikes. A characteristic of the entire aforementioned situation is of 
course the attempt to suppress - both administratively and criminally - 
any labor mobilization, with the dismissals of workers who participate 
in strike mobilizations or even corresponding disciplinary prosecutions 
of thousands of striking teachers. At the same time, the liberalization 
of layoffs, the daily intimidation and threat of unemployment, the 
expansion of forms of work with reduced rights (such as the one with a 
block) and the intensification of working conditions are the weapons 
that the state has offered to the bosses' quiver for the further 
exploitation of workers. All these "deviations" that have been 
officially legislated in the last decades of continuous restructuring, 
come to seal the bleeding and exhaustion of society, its murder on the 
altar of the bosses' profit.
Within this context, the exploited and the oppressed continue to pay 
with our blood for the maintenance and reproduction of the barbaric 
exploitative oppressive system that oppresses, murders and impoverishes. 
Against employer terrorism, state and capitalist restructurings of 
exclusion, subjugation and repression, the devaluation of our lives, 
impoverishment and oppression, against states and bosses who oppress our 
lives, let us intensify social and class struggles. Let us all stand 
together on the path and struggles of social resistance and class 
solidarity. The only perspective for a society of equality, solidarity 
and freedom, without exploitation and oppression, lies in our own hands, 
in the struggle for social and class emancipation.
