(en) Italy, FAI, Umanita Nova #21-26 - Hello Manlio (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Fri, 14 Aug 2026 07:18:22 +0300

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of one of the historic figures of anarchism in our province, Manlio Lavezzi. --- His activism began in the late 1960s when he was still a student, and continued with the founding of the anarchist group dedicated to Franco Serantini. Manlio always defined himself as an anarchist communist; a member of the Italian Anarchist Federation, he experienced the various vicissitudes both internally and externally within our movement, and was particularly active in the 1980s.
His intelligence, critical spirit, and irony have always been an important guiding light for the political growth of all comrades in the province of Alessandria who have embraced anarchism over the years. After a period of absence from the active scene due to personal issues and his relocation to other cities, we found him again at our side in the PerlaNera Anarchist Laboratory, the PerlaNera Gaas, and the Autbiologic market held periodically in the Anarchist Laboratory's courtyard. Although his poor health recently kept him inactive in demonstrations and other activities, he was always active in discussions and debates with his comrades. He was also involved, along with some of us, in historical research on the anarchist presence in the Alessandria area. We plan to publish a book on this topic, which we will certainly dedicate to him.
Convinced that we never die as long as our memories remain alive, we can certainly say that even if we no longer see him, he is always by our side.
Farewell, Manlio, may the earth rest lightly upon you.
