NO CONSENT TO POWER --- NO PARTICIPATION IN THE ASSIGNMENT BALLOTS --- LET'S TAKE LIVES INTO OUR HANDS
Elections, as a control mechanism, are the main tool of power in bourgeois democracy for ensuring social consensus and legitimizing the dominance of the powerful over the social base. The illusion of the alleged choice of an alternative and participation in decision-making by society is given, often with the use of bipolars, which result in the complete distancing of people from the commons and the assignment of decisions about our lives to the "experts". Thus, student elections are, on the one hand, an attempt to secure institutional positions by party factions to control the procedures and decisions of the student movement and, on the other, the legitimization of the existence of the alleged "militant" forces and their parasitic nature.
As every year, so this year too, we see in the last weeks our schools becoming fields of election campaign by the various party youth. As the culmination of the decay of bureaucratic unionism, each party force promotes a militant stance and in a climate of demonstrativeness lists its "alleged" victories, which are nothing more than conquests of the student base. Thus, from the classic anti-militant and conservative forces, or those factions that appropriate the tools of struggle of the Anarchist struggle, to the most hostile to the movement and pawns of the rectorate authorities, such as EAAK/ARAS, they have nothing to promise except the inactivation of student associations, the instrumentalization of our struggles and the electoral exploitation of the needs and goals of the student movement.
In a period of intensified attack by the State and bosses on the public character of Education and in the attempt to impose a condition of complete authoritarianism by the State and the rectories in the asylum areas, the need to rally students in libertarian, self-organized groups and their unmediated participation in social and class struggles is a one-way street.
For us, as anarchists, our conscious refusal to participate in the student elections is not simply an ideological issue. It is the awareness of objective reality. From the most pro-government voices that celebrate the institutional abolition of university asylum and expulsions, to the supposedly movement-oriented and militant ones, all of them want to make a political career on the backs of the social base. The student movement is not a minority of experts whose party line has replaced their conscience and intelligence. It is its base, the everyday people who, through their participation in grassroots collective processes, occupations, and demonstrations, have stood in the way of educational restructuring over the past 50 years and will do so once again in the coming years.
Against the servants of party interests, whether right-wing or left-wing, truly self-organized forces must take initiatives in the near future that will break the cycle of defeatism and misery. Let us oppose with our weapon of dignity, solidarity and justice the unmediated struggle from below. For a university where student associations, self-organized and without leaders and boards, will occupy the spaces where we study, socialize and politicize. Reclaiming asylum and its social character. Setting the goals of a student movement that will be truly unguarded, dangerous and revolutionary.
