(en) France, Monde Libertaire - Anarchist Prisoners in Russia and the War in Ukraine (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Sun, 14 Jun 2026 07:27:44 +0300

In June, a tour of presentations and discussions will take place in France focusing on anarchist and antifascist prisoners in Russia, anti-war resistance, and solidarity with Ukrainian society. Members of the Fires of Freedom collective and former political prisoners from Russia will participate in the events in all participating cities. In some cities, they will be joined by members of the Anarchist Black Cross Moscow, the Solidarité Free Azat association, and an anarchist who fled Russia last year to escape persecution.

Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, many Russian anarchists and antifascists have opposed the war-publicly, through acts of solidarity, sabotage, and other forms of resistance. For this, dozens of people have been prosecuted, sentenced to harsh prison terms, and subjected to torture and various forms of coercion.

During these meetings, we will discuss anarchist and antifascist prisoners in Russia, how their legal cases are linked to the war against Ukraine, and why, for many of them, resistance to the Russian invasion is inseparable from solidarity with Ukrainian society.

We will present several cases and discuss ways to support prisoners of the Russian regime from Europe. We will also address how the Russian state now criminalizes even simple support for prisoners.

During each event, it will be possible to donate to support anarchist and antifascist prisoners in Russia, as well as to purchase solidarity merchandise. In some cities, it will also be possible to write letters to the prisoners.
