intervention, an intervention aimed at blocking this crisis, both by 
imposing regime change and by encouraging the strengthening of the 
Islamic Republic through aggression. If these considerations are true, 
we are faced with an intervention carried out against the rebellious masses.

The Italian government and other European Union governments have 
embraced the US and Israeli narrative, extolling the possibility of 
regime change.

At the emergency meeting of the Italian government on February 28, a 
very dangerous position was taken, because Giorgia Meloni "expressed the 
Italian government's support and condemnation of the unjustifiable 
attacks suffered by their nations" to the heads of the Persian Gulf 
states without even mentioning the aggression suffered by Iran. This 
stance is dangerous because it reintroduces the narrative that holds 
Iran responsible for the outbreak of the ongoing war, which, in the 
Western narrative, was a defensive one. The government's position is 
also dangerous, given the presence of Italian troops in the area, who 
could be called upon to take "defensive" action against the Gulf states. 
A thousand Italian soldiers are stationed in Iraq and Kuwait alone, 
divided between the Erbil base in Iraq and Ali al-Salem in Kuwait. The

Consistent with our internationalist and anti-militarist principles, it 
is important to advance the objective of the immediate withdrawal of 
Italian troops from the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. This is primarily 
for the protection of the population. But I am also convinced that the 
possibility of a revolutionary evolution in the Iranian situation can 
only be facilitated by the cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal 
of all occupation troops from the Persian Gulf and Red Sea area.
