(en) France, Monde Libertaire - The March 2026 Program of the show Femmes Libres (Free Women) (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Thu, 2 Apr 2026 09:25:17 +0300

The show Femmes Libres is a space for reflection and study of the specific oppression of women in a patriarchal and capitalist society founded on male domination. This space highlights the strategies of defense, denunciation, and reconstruction implemented by feminist movements, in light of the analysis of social relations of sex, gender, class, and origin. Each episode typically includes three parts: guests; activist news: meetings, conferences, publications, films, exhibitions, etc.; and segments that vary each week: Open Forum, From Eve to Philomène, and others. The program is broadcast monthly throughout the feminist network. It is often featured in publications, such as those of the Ruptures network or on the efigies.org mailing list, in Télérama, and also on the website https://www.monde-libertaire.fr/

Recordings of the programs are available at: http://emission-femmeslibres.blogspot.com/

Wednesday, March 4
* From Eve to Philomène, not forgetting the others: Colette Magny (1926-1997) on the centenary of her birth. A French libertarian singer-songwriter, inspired by blues and jazz, she began singing professionally at 36 and released her first album at 38.

* Monique Pinçon-Charlot presents Dans les beaux quartiers (In the Upscale Neighborhoods), a book she published 37 years ago, in 1989, with her husband, which remains as relevant as ever: the insular world of the elite! Co-reissue in 2025 by Rue de l'Echiquier and Les Voix Urbaines. Interview co-hosted with Mariama Keita from the show Pas de Quartiers on Radio Libertaire.

Wednesday, March 11
* Accords et à Cris #17: Kill The Princess! The four women who play energizing rock in the form of a feminist and queer manifesto present their second album. It's a breath of fresh air in the metal scene, which is more accustomed to testosterone-fueled male rockers! Returning to the "Free Women" program, this group was previously invited on November 1, 2023.
* Marina Franco and Claudia Feld: *Crimes Against Humanity at ESMA: Anatomy of a Clandestine Detention Center in Argentina (1976-1983)*, Anamosa, 2026. Formerly the Buenos Aires Naval Academy, ESMA was, during the military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983, the largest clandestine center for detention, torture, and enforced disappearances in Argentina. Under the direction of the two guests, four researchers produce an account and analysis of how ESMA operated. Co-hosted with Mariama Keita of the program *Pas de Quartiers* on Radio Libertaire.

Wednesday, March 18
* Poetic Works: Femelle Qu'antique by Hassiba Hô, Unicité editions; La chanson à deux bouches by Domi Bergougnoux, Cygne editions; excerpts from Bureau de tabac by Fernando Pessoa, Unes editions.

* Assarah Assa: The Situation in Iran. Assarah discusses the situation in Iran, the aftermath of the 2022 feminist uprising with Femme Vie Liberté, now confronted by deadly forces: the Islamic Republic and its patriarchal and militarist alternatives, such as the Iranian "Revolutionary Guards," are fiercely intensifying repression. The situation is worsening with US bombings aimed at forcing Iran to cease developing nuclear weapons.

Wednesday, March 25
* Open Forum: Inclusive Writing, New Developments.

* Julie Campiche for the album Unspoken, released in February 2026: "Often in history, anonymous was a woman." This quote from Virginia Woolf is the starting point for Julie Campiche's new solo project. With her harp, electronic effects, and voice, Julie pays homage to Women and Feminine Strength. Each composition tells the story of a woman, past or present, from here or elsewhere, famous or anonymous, through music, constantly striving for musical innovation. She co-hosts the radio program Flemmardise et Rêveil mots with Florence on Radio Libertaire.
