An invitation to a solidarity direct action with the Ostrava community, 
which is in danger of extinction. ---- We do not agree with the plans of 
the Mariánské Hory and Hulváky municipal district to evict the residents 
of Bedrishka and destroy such a unique community of people operating on 
the principles of solidarity and mutual assistance. For years, Bedrishka 
has been experiencing evictions and bullying from its own elected 
representatives. They are forbidden to repair their houses, insulate 
them, or even buy a boiler when it is bitterly cold outside. Efforts for 
dialogue and agreement by the locals, who want to stay in their homes, 
are rejected and the population is being trampled. Instead, the city 
wants to evict the locals from their homes and raze Bedrishka to the 
ground. They made this clear at the last June council meeting. And in 
September, Bedrishka faces another wave of evictions.

The transition from coal-fired energy to (hopefully) renewable sources 
should not mean the destruction of communities. As a place that was 
created for coal mining - Bedrishka is a former mining settlement - it 
should serve the people as part of a fair transformation. The 
Moravian-Silesian Region made a significant contribution to the state 
economy during its coal era. After coal mining ends, the region should 
be rewarded for its efforts and not left to be mined and sucked up. 
However, this does not have to mean that everything will be razed to the 
ground and everything will be built new. The state should mainly 
contribute to improving the quality of life of the locals, providing 
jobs, schools, caring for nature and creating communities.

Bedrishka is such a place. People live here, raise children, run a 
cultural center together, help each other and spend time together. There 
is also beautiful nature nearby. This is not something that should be 
razed to the ground. On the contrary, such communities should receive 
the support of the city. All those plans for luxury housing for the rich 
or hotels for dogs can be created elsewhere.

Housing is a right, not only for rich and white people, but for all of 
us. The district government is facing a small but united community. Will 
the people of Bedrishka do it alone? No! Bedrishka needs us, you and 
every other person you know. Let's not let capital, racism and the 
stronger win against the weaker again. Come and support Bedrishka. 
Together we are stronger and we will not let Bedrishka down.

How it will happen:
At 12 we will meet in front of the Regional Office of the 
Moravian-Silesian Region. (We will all leave the Klimakemp just 
transformation together around 11). Speeches will be given from 12:30. 
After 13:00, a parade through the city will begin with a stop in front 
of the Mariánské Hory and Hulváky Municipal District Office. After the 
demonstration, we will continue to the Barvy Bedrishka festival, 
organized by the locals:
