team at the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty.

I, Mohammad Yazdani, have been in Canada for about two years in absolute
uncertain conditions. As an inter-cities bus driver, I carred with me and
distributed anti-governmental literature and flyers in cities such as
Ahwaz, Mashad, Kermanshah, Mahabad, and Tehran. The content of these
materials was about the issues related to the working class, politics,
shortage of running water and power, housing, and so on.
One day, on my way to Ahwaz, the Revolutionary Guards (Pasdars) found some
flyers in my bus, which resulted in the suspension of my employment
licence for 45 days. Since they were unable to prove that the flyers
belonged to me, they repealed the suspension.
Following this incidence, I, along with my fiance, cautiously contined to
distribute anti-regime flyers which we received from underground sources.
We carried on this political activity until my fiance, along with hundreds
of ordinary dissatisfied people, was arrrested after she took part in the
Islamshahr demonstration against the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a
consequence of which tens of people were shot to death. Evidence shows
that she was executed at the same day of her detention. The security
forces were able to gather important evidence and information about me,
which led to their raiding my home, my parents' residence, and my close
relatives homes in order to track me down. Thus, I went into hiding, and
after finding proper connections, fled to Turkey. Having stayed one month
in Turkey, I flew to Canada, where I officially requested refugee status.
After two years waiting in limbo in Canada, I was informed that I was not
recognized as a convention refugee, and one month later the Immigration
Canada issued a deportation order for me. Now I am in hiding and living
underground life without having any future in perspective. I am not
allowed to work, not entitled to social assistance and health coverage,
and if caught by the Police, I will be detained and deported to Iran, from
where I fled persecution.
I hereby request all human rights organizations, refugee-advocate groups,
and all freedom-loving individuals to support and sympathize with me.
There are lots of asylum seekers at the same situation as I am in Canada,
and without a united action and solidarity, we will be deported to Iran at
the cost of the loss of our freedom and our lives.
