COMPILING A CONTACT LIST:

Campaign for Labor Rights already maintains an extensive data base of
grassroots sweatshop activists. We help to bring together people in the same
community who want to work on sweatshop issues.

People who read our labor alerts use this information in a variety of ways.
Many of you respond as individuals (by sending letters and faxes and by
making telephone calls when requested to do so in an alert). You might have
an interest in linking up with others in your community who also are
involved in the sweatshop movement.

THREE THINGS YOU CAN DO:

1) If you would contact information for organizations or activists in your
community who are working on sweatshop issues, tell us what community you
are in (or larger city you are close to, if you live in a very small
community) and ask for the other local contacts in your area.

2) Please let us know if you would like to be listed as a contact in your
community. If we can give out your phone number, please indicate whether it
is a day or evening number. Let us know if you are a member of an
organization which is involved in sweatshop issues. Let us know whether you
would like to be contacted just for specific campaigns (such as Nike or Han
Young) or whether you would like to be in touch with people more broadly
interested in sweatshop and child labor issues.

3) As you link up with others to form a group or a coalition of groups
working on one or more of the sweatshop campaigns, please keep us posted on
sweatshop activism in your community.

The work moves forward! Thanks for all that you are doing to make these
struggles live and to turn these campaigns into victories. You are part of a
broad-based, growing social movement. Its strength grows as more and more
people become connected with each other in doing this work.
