A-Infos (en) Russia, Declaration on "murder" of Olga Rukosyla, by editorial collective of the anarchist www.avtonom.org

17th of October 2008 in our website we published news about murder of Olga 
Rukosyla in Irkutsk. It was declared, that Nazis murdered her for red shoelaces, 
which in certain circles are a sign of alignment with Antifa. Due to recent news 
of murder of Fyodor Filatov and other active antifascists, we were not 
especially surprised to to these news. After some checks, we published news in 
our website. ---- Since publication of the news, we have taken various attempts 
to find out what exactly happened - if there was a girl with such a name in 
Irkutsk, if in someone was really murdered in that region that day etc. We could 
not fully proof or unproof the information.

Irkutsk police officers deny fact of the murder in personal capacity, but police
department has also not made any official commentary on the case, which
caused huge attention in Irkutsk media. There are few families in
Irkutsk region with such an unusual name, but none of them is registered
in Irkutsk.  People who claim to have known murdered, do not deny the
fact, do not admit deceit, but also do not provide any additional
information.

This is why editorial collective of avtonom.org considers it necessary
to announce, that judging from the available facts, no murder ever took
place.

Main source of the information were two Irkutsk inhabitants, who
presented themselves as friends of the deceased, told details of the
story, name and photographs of her. Another one of them (Viktor
Solonchev, also known as Denver) presented himself as a police officer
and presented a police id. Motivations of these two persons are unclear.

Differently from DPNI and other ultra-right groups, we never falsify
facts in order to prove some of our views. And one does not need to
falsify them - that Nazis murder their political opponents, has been
known for a long times and been sadly proven many times during recent
years.

We hope, that information on death of Olga Rukosyla was definitely
disinformation, and we are sorry that disinformation was widely
distributed in internet and resulted confusion among many. From now on,
we will more carefully check all news we receive.
