(en) France, Strasbourg, UCL-Alsace: Protest against the "license to kill" and the *Riposte* Law in Strasbourg on September 19, 2026 (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

This legislation authorizing murder-backed by Macron's allies and the
Republicans-stems from the historic platform of Jean-Marie Le Pen's FN.
This discriminatory law obliterates the few existing protections against
unchecked police violence, thereby allowing law enforcement to commit
killings without facing consequences. The reformist Left attempted to
thwart this bill through a multitude of amendments and incessant calls
to order.
However, as usual, the National Assembly fails to defend us; it cannot
serve as a check on power, and the executive branch can always find a
legislative maneuver to impose its will. Despite the outrage and
protests from MPs, the government stifled the vote, and an alliance of
reactionaries from all sides will now enable the police to strike blows
against our class without repercussions. All this is unfolding under the
gaze of the victims' families, who are present in the legislative
chamber. We join our voices with theirs: no justice, no peace.
The police primarily target people of color, the most destitute, and
activists. This was the case for Enzo, shot dead by police a few years
ago right here in Strasbourg. The police keep the working class under
control through violence and weaponry because they are aware of the
threat we pose to the State and to Capital!
Furthermore, the police also crack down on cultural events-such as
raves-and the Traveller community via the *Riposte* Law; this measure
further expands the coercive power of the state militia and adds to the
legislative arsenal favoring the police.
In our struggles, we must campaign against the State and all the racist
and security-focused laws that accompany the rise of fascism in this
country! We demand the disarmament and dissolution of the police, BUT
the only solution to this barbarity is to collectively take charge of
issues of justice and security!
