Of course, we offer our full solidarity to our Italian comrades, but we
will not be outraged by this power grab in the name of a supposed attack
on freedom of expression. First, because force is the natural regime of
any state, even one that claims to be, like the United States, the
champion of individual liberties. Second, because we have never harbored
the slightest illusion about the nature and function of the internet.
Any technological production has no chance of emerging under the regime
of capitalist accumulation unless it contributes to its expanded
reproduction and nothing else. The internet, "a space of freedom"-what a
joke!
Finally, it is in these circumstances that it becomes useful to rethink
how we exchange information, how we generate ideas, and which tools or
approaches we prioritize. These setbacks reinforce our conviction not to
abandon the practices we have used for decades: the printed newspaper,
the book, the leaflet, the poster, the sticker, the public meeting, and
so on.
A new issue of the newspaper La Mouette Enragée is in preparation, you
will find it soon in the main kiosks of the Boulonnais, spread the word!
