Update from the 8th Congress of the Anarchist Political Organization -

The 8th Congress of the Anarchist Political Organization - Federation of 
Collectives was held in Thessaloniki on June 13 and 14. During the 
congress, the member groups had the opportunity to renew their reading 
of the political situation through their positions, as announced on the 
first day and during the open process of the Congress, which was also 
open to observer groups. The analytical statements converged on the 
approach that monitors the ever-increasing war preparation in the 
Western world amid the escalation of military conflicts on various 
fronts such as that in Ukraine, after the Russian invasion, the 
corresponding one in the Middle East after the imperialist US-Israeli 
raid against Iran, but also the continuation of the genocide of the 
Palestinian people in Gaza by the state of Israel and the massacre of 
the Sudanese people who revolted in 2018 to overthrow the dictatorial 
regime. A number of other issues such as the position of the Greek 
state, the strategy of the country's bourgeoisie and the network of 
alliances that is being formed were incorporated as cutting edges of the 
analyses in the texts of the groups, which are listed in full at the end 
of this statement.
The situation within the country was also analyzed in detail, 
emphasizing both the new round of the attack of the dominant 
state-capitalist institutionalization against the plebeian strata with 
both the sharp increase in the cost of living, the reduction of labor 
and social rights and the intensification of state repression at all 
levels, amid the retreat and weakening of collective social resistance.
The conference process was completed with closed discussions between the 
member groups during which an assessment was made of their action and 
the development of social and class resistance during the previous 
period in their places of operation, as well as an assessment of the 
Federation's organs. An important part of this part of the discussion 
was the collective assessment of the organization by the A.P.O. in 
Athens in April 2026 of the 13th Congress of the International of 
Anarchist Federations. The experience was evaluated particularly 
positively, as the organization of the Congress for the first time in 
Greece on the one hand managed to bring together dozens of comrades from 
various countries in Europe and Latin America, while at the same time it 
gave the comrades of APO the opportunity to participate in mass terms in 
all the processes, events and discussions, several of which proved 
effective, expressing common views of the organizations in texts 
published by the IFA and concerning a coherent position against war and 
state-capital totalitarianism, as well as solidarity with the people of 
Cuba and the rebels in Sudan.
On the second and last day of the Conference, the groups dealt with 
current issues and the coordination of actions for the coming period, 
such as the organization of the 8th Libertarian Festival of Social, 
Class & Internationalist Solidarity, which was organized in Athens at 
the end of June 2026. A product of the Organization's procedures was the 
publication of a second edition of its Statutes, which formed the basis 
on which the federal political organization of anarchists was built, as 
expressed for ten years through the lines of the A.P.O.
The next plenary process was planned with the next Conference taking 
place in the winter in Athens.
