View online: https://www.zones-subversives.com/ ---- The online journal
Subversive Zones offers a critical perspective on current events in
France and around the world. It does not aim to adhere to the
institutional agenda or the fleeting futility of sensationalism. The
essential issues facing our societies, the renewal of critical thinking,
and genuine counterculture permeate this independent journal, which
operates outside the mainstream press. Breaking with ideologies, it also
draws upon all radical and libertarian thought, from revolutionary
anarchism to anti-bureaucratic Marxism.
This independent online journal offers a renewal of critical thinking,
far removed from any intellectual conformism. To achieve this, it seems
essential to maintain a certain distance from various dead ends.
Academics are trapped in a self-referential academicism, often detached
from reality. Journalists become bogged down in the most trivial news
and the most servile cronyism. Activists drown in short-sighted
activism, intellectual specialization, or the most rigid dogmatism.
Intellectual journals cater to a specialized audience and favor a
conceptual approach, far removed from everyday life. Conversely,
mainstream media content themselves with a stream of information
characterized by simplistic thinking and a lack of critical distance.
Articles attempt to offer a more in-depth critical perspective while
remaining accessible.
The approach remains interdisciplinary. History allows for the analysis
of past social and cultural movements. Social sciences and philosophy
can help us understand contemporary society. But a cross-cutting
approach, transcending academic boundaries, remains the preferred one.
The topics covered are diverse. Social struggles, heterodox intellectual
currents, artistic movements, and countercultures are all discussed.
This approach aims to connect politics and everyday life.
NB: We should have indexed this site years ago, but as you've probably
noticed, we're not exactly up-to-date with our links, which are a bit
like a bit of activist archaeology on the web...
