The savage attack that societies are experiencing today, amidst 
conditions of deep and comprehensive systemic crisis and 
delegitimization of the political system worldwide, is escalating and 
highlighting both the incurable contradictions of the state-capitalist 
model of organization, as well as the absolute inability to produce any 
coherent social vision, perspective and hope from above. The roots of 
this constantly intensifying aggression lie in the very nature of the 
oppressive and exploitative system. The need for deepening and expanding 
power leads to the operation of controlling every human activity, with 
the aim of completely subordinating society to the dictates of the state 
and the bosses.

The bankrupt world of power has nothing to offer those at the bottom 
anymore except war and fascism, nothing except refugees, the plundering 
of nature and societies, nothing except poverty and death. This is what 
is highlighted in the most tragic way, both in the war slaughter in 
Ukraine after the Russian army invaded 4 years ago, with the 
intensification of military operations in the Middle East and the 
bombing of Iran by Israel and the US, with the increasing aggression of 
the US with the intervention in Venezuela and the criminal coercion of 
the people of Cuba to live under exterminating conditions, with the 
fueling, maintenance and strengthening of the war-counterrevolution 
between the two dominant factions in Sudan by the United Arab Emirates, 
China, Russia, Serbia and Turkey for control of natural resources and 
the Sudanese people who revolted in December 2018, resulting in the 
overthrow of the dictatorial regime of Al-Bashir, as well as with the 
genocide of the Palestinian people that constitutes the atrocious 
escalation of the 78-year-old bloody persecution of the people of 
Palestine from their land by the state of Israel and its allies. The 
victims of all imperialist predatory and neocolonial wars and 
interventions are always the peoples themselves, who are slaughtered in 
this global slaughterhouse or take the path of migration to find death 
on the land and water borders of Europe with the murderous assistance of 
the Greek state.

In Greece, the direction towards the imposition of modern 
totalitarianism is reflected in a multitude of restructurings that serve 
the declared and fixed goals of the world of Power, regardless of 
political management. Because if the right seems capable today of 
imposing the hegemony of neo-liberalism and expanding its policy 
attacking workers, the unemployed and all those below, it is because the 
political management of social democracy in the name of the radical left 
crushed the movements, scattered delusions, defeatism and illusions in 
large social segments only to put another brick in the edifice of modern 
totalitarianism and to further consolidate the perception that nothing 
can change.

Faced with the gloomy perspective of Modern Totalitarianism, social and 
class resistances, the struggles of people to shake off state capitalist 
barbarity, emerge as the only hope. From the rebellious people of 
Bolivia, the struggling Palestine to the rebellious people of Sudan. 
From the solidarity demonstrations in struggling Palestine and against 
the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people by the state of Israel, 
the anarchist struggle against patriarchy, gender and police violence, 
trafficking rings, their institutional cover-up and state terrorism, 
student mobilizations against educational restructuring, repression and 
war research in universities to the struggles that erupt within the 
spaces of exploitation, the mass mobilizations against an entire system 
that murders on trains, at borders and at police checkpoints. In these 
struggles, we anarchists live and breathe.

Our organized political presence and action on existing fronts of 
struggle and the formation of new ones, we want to be the bridge between 
real social needs and dispositions and the anarchist worldview and 
practice, so that resistances become springboards for social and class 
emancipation. We take hold of the thread and are inspired for a future 
that is possible, as demonstrated by comrades who came into conflict 
with the world of Power and achieved the unthinkable 90 years ago in 
revolutionary Spain in 1936. They achieved the world of Anarchy and 
Libertarian Communism, they embodied Utopia!

The organization of the 8th Eleftheriakos Festival by APO-OS aims to 
create a public and open political and cultural space for meeting, 
communication and fermentation between the social and class struggles 
that develop from below and the intervention of anarchist and 
libertarian projects within them.

At the same time, we aim to create a space where as many people as 
possible can come into contact with the anarchist project of social, 
class and internationalist solidarity and the universal vision of social 
revolution, for a society of equality and freedom through discussions 
and briefings, photo exhibitions and documents.

Thus, we will have the opportunity to create another ground where 
anarchists' perceptions, practices, proposals, positions and struggles 
will be highlighted on a series of issues that run through the political 
and social reality of our time. A public field of dialogue where we will 
have the opportunity to learn about and present experiences of struggle 
and political conclusions from resistances that erupt with a perspective 
of social liberation.

Against the barbarity of modern totalitarianism that manifests itself on 
a global level, as anarchists, we have to put forward the weapons of 
social, class and internationalist solidarity, recognizing that in our 
days it is more imperative than ever to connect those struggling 
internationally and to fight together against the common attack that we 
receive. In every open front of the social and class struggle, where the 
aggression of the state and capital manifests itself, attempting to 
radicalize the struggles through their connection with the universal 
social vision of social and class emancipation, putting forward the only 
realistic way out that the oppressed have, the organization of the 
struggle for social revolution, Anarchy and Libertarian Communism.
