SOLIDARITY ---- The FAI Conference, held in Asti on June 5 and 6, 2026,

meeting on the repressive situation in the country. ---- In publicly 
denouncing the government's authoritarian grip, which aims to target all 
social opposition, the labor market, young people and students, 
immigrants, and all the most vulnerable social groups with intimidating 
and terrorist measures, the Conference of the Italian Anarchist 
Federation firmly rejects the explicit criminalization of anarchism by 
the government and the media, subservient to the logic of power.

In derogation of any residual semblance of democratic guarantees, the 
fascist government has brought to fruition a long process by which 
individuals are persecuted not for what they do but for what they think.

Anarchism is in the government's crosshairs because it presents itself 
as an irreconcilable opponent of domination, exploitation, and war.

No one, however, can feel safe, since this attack on ideas and freedom 
of thought represents a point of no return that must be responded to 
with widespread struggle and active solidarity, for freedom against all 
fascism and injustice.

AGAINST ALL WARS, ANTIMILITARISM, AND INTERNATIONALISM

In a climate of widespread and permanent war, the federation believes it 
is important to relaunch internationalism and antimilitarism as 
principles and practices characterizing its political action. Italy is 
actively participating on the main war fronts, both with its own 
military contingents and by sending weapons, providing logistical 
services, and hosting strategic US and NATO military infrastructure on 
its territory.
At the same time, borders are being further closed to those fleeing war 
and poverty. The Italian government intends to implement the new 
European Asylum Pact, legalizing pushbacks at sea with a "naval 
blockade" and detaining asylum seekers in prisons outside Italy.

To this end, the government has signed a new memorandum with Libya and 
is providing resources and personnel to the Tunisian authorities, with 
the aim of repressing and blocking people on the move.

This silent extermination adds to the massive killings of civilians in 
Ukraine, Iran, and Lebanon, and the ongoing genocides in Gaza and Sudan.

In this context, military spending continues to rise, resulting in 
precariousness, unemployment, and poverty for large segments of the 
population, in what has now effectively become a war economy.

The arms race also includes the reintroduction of military conscription, 
increased military personnel and reserves, and a general enlistment of 
society in the war effort and war propaganda, which are met with 
widespread opposition, especially among younger generations.

The arms industry, largely controlled by the state, is booming, and in 
this context, logistics infrastructure is becoming increasingly 
strategic for the movement of war materials.

Railways, like ports, are among the infrastructures most affected by 
military traffic and are also the sectors where workers have mobilized 
against arms transport.

Railways in particular have seen significant militarization across 
strategic European and international corridors.

To counter all this, the conference believes it is essential to support 
and relaunch the work of the antimilitarist assembly and launch a series 
of campaigns against the war on migrants, against the return of military 
conscription and the conscription of society, against weapons production 
and the military use of railways, in support of deserters from all wars 
and of comrades who oppose warmongering and bloodthirsty regimes.
