An exceptional reading of texts and poems invoking courage, freedom, and Iran on the occasion of International Women's Day, Sunday, March 8, 2026. ---- As a prelude to the 2026 Spring of Poets, following the final performance of Cynthia Fleury's *The End of Courage* at the Théâtre de l'Atelier, several actresses and one actor, accompanied by Cynthia Fleury, participated in a remarkable reading of texts and poems invoking courage, freedom, and Iran. ---- They faced the audience, seated simply on chairs on a bare stage, devoid of ornamentation and music. Only their voices resonated, spreading powerful and luminous texts. ---- What a beautiful profession it is to be an actor! The performers did not reveal their identities, as if their intention was to completely efface themselves in favor of the texts that are dear to them.

Among them were many, and we discovered or rediscovered these:

Several texts by Fatou Diome. She graced the audience with her presence at the end of the reading, performing her poem "Heavyweights vs. Featherweights" with undisguised wit that mocked those in power.

Gisèle Halimi's writing was naturally present thanks to an excerpt from "A Fierce Freedom" read by Nathalie Dessay.

A truly moving excerpt from the novel "Badjens" by Delphine Minoui, about the peaceful revolt of Iranian women and teenage girls, was read by Sophie Guillemin.

Charlotte Delbo's poem, "Prayers to the Living to Forgive Them for Being Alive," read softly and without emphasis by Louis Pencreac'h, was a welcome addition.

A young and gentle voice, so sensitive, belonging to Zoé Adjani, resonated through the poems of Marianne Cztzaras's *Sauver son rêve* (Saving Her Dream) and Louise Dupré's *Exercices de joie* (Exercises in Joy).

Let us acknowledge that we need courage and that no voice that raises the pen of those who fight for freedom speaks in a void. These voices are part of our shared breath, essential to life.
