Italian political circles are experiencing considerable dismay following
the investigation by Genoa judges, which allegedly revealed the
existence of a Hamas financing network operated by several Palestinian
associations in Italy. These organizations claimed to be carrying out
humanitarian work to aid the population of Gaza and the West Bank, and
allegedly diverted all or part of the funds raised to finance the
Palestinian organization's war efforts.
In our opinion, even if the judicial rulings were to confirm this to be
true at the end of the investigation, it would not be surprising, given
that it is common practice among diasporas in various countries, whether
under colonial rule or seeking national independence, that those who
left their country because of political persecution, to seek freedom for
their ideas, or for economic reasons, to have a dignified and viable
life, then decide to finance the struggle of their compatriots who
remained in their homeland.
The Irish did it, emigrating to the United States with their
compatriots, even going so far as to finance terrorist movements like
the IRA, which carried out bloody attacks; the Jews of the diaspora did
it on a massive scale, financing the terrorist movements that did the
same and which led to the birth of the State of Israel, and they
continue to do so today, persevering in fueling the policies of a
criminal and genocidal state like Israel; the Kurds did it, fueling the
struggles of this unfortunate people without, unfortunately, achieving
any positive results, only being exploited by this or that power, as the
case may be, to achieve goals unrelated to their struggle; the Armenians
did it in a desperate effort to emerge from their genocide, regaining
the dignity of their people: and we could continue, confident that the
pages of this newsletter would not be enough to contain the list. To
distinguish the Palestinian case from others, it's worth considering
whether the fundraising for the armed struggle was hidden behind the
fundraising for humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the
Palestinian people. This is assuming, however, that this is true, but it
remains to be proven.
To do so, one would need to delve into the details of the investigation,
conducted by the judiciary, to understand the sources on which the
investigation is based. There is, in fact, talk of massive assistance
provided by the Jewish state's intelligence services and its US minions.
Nor can one rely on the police reports of other European states, all
subservient to Israeli policies, organizations all interested in
criminalizing all those movements, initiatives, and forces that support
the Palestinian struggle, a people they aim to exterminate, as is
clearly evident from what happened in Gaza and what is happening in the
West Bank. These are the same people who created the Jewish state,
thanks to funding for the Irgun Tzvai Leumi (National Military
Organization) gangs, which, operating in Palestine during the British
protectorate, had no qualms about massacring anyone who opposed their
plan to build a state. Today, they finance the genocidal Israeli state.
It may be said that in this case we are faced with a scam, as the
financing of the terrorist organization was masked by the declared
humanitarian purpose of the fundraising, thus exploiting the good faith
of at least some of the unsuspecting donors. However, it would be
hypocritical not to remember that in all the cases cited, the
combination of armed struggle and aid to the population massacred by the
genocidal act was and is still being combined. It is impossible to
distinguish, for a thousand reasons, the two objectives, not least
because they are clearly interconnected by events, as well as by the
genocidal act that legitimizes the right to defense, even armed.
It is this difference in weight and measure that is disgusting and
reveals the guilty conscience of those who today criticize the struggle
of the Palestinian people and those who support it. The double standard
with which the West judges violations of international law as the
actions of others and not its own, and considers the rights of peoples
violated by others and not by its own institutions, is the fruit of
believing itself to be a flourishing garden, and that its own world is
cleaner, less corrupt than that of others.
One need only think of the golden toilets of the Ukrainian oligarchs to
realize how fallacious this belief is.
