(en) France, OCL CA #348 - Al Amal (Hope), newsletter of the Sudanese Anarchist Gathering (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Thu, 10 Apr 2025 09:35:11 +0300

The Sudanese Anarchist Gathering emerged in 2017, initiated by students who had discovered anarchist ideas on their own. Present in several cities across the country (Khartoum, Madani, El Fasher) as well as in the countryside, it participated in the revolutionary events of December 2018, and in the Revolutionary Committees, self-managed organizations of Sudanese civil society and spearheads of the revolutionary movement that are multiplying solidarity initiatives (1). ---- The war between military factions that began in April 2023 dispersed many members of the group, who went into internal or external exile. However, the group maintains the connection between its members and continues its activities to disseminate anarchist ideas, by distributing brochures or printed texts by hand, and also by participating in local solidarity initiatives. The SAG has already paid a heavy price in the revolutionary struggle and in the fighting between military factions: comrades Abu Al-Rish, Qusay, and Mudawi were killed during the fight to overthrow the Islamist dictatorship. Then, in 2024, Omar Habbash and our companion Sarah were assassinated by one or the other of the military factions, in particularly sordid circumstances.

The CNT-AIT relayed their appeal for international support in April 2023, raising funds that helped shelter comrades, cover the cost of surgery for a comrade who sustained a war injury, and provide support for a shelter for women and children. Today, with the SAG, they are launching a small bimonthly newsletter, bilingual (Arabic/French and Arabic/English), with the aim of disseminating anarchist ideas and practices both there and here, and of building bridges because there is only one world, and one struggle.

In French:
* Why become an anarchist in Sudan?
* Sudan: They are not satisfied with this blood!
* Opposing the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) does not imply siding with the state!
* The Tribe and the State: An attempt to analyze the authoritarian conflict in Sudan from an anarchist perspective
In Arabic:
* We are the Workers' International
* Black Cat Library: A virtual anarchist library in Arabic
* To the Tyrants of the World (Abou el Kacem Chebbi)
* For a Future Made by Us All! (Presentation of the Arabic translation of Rebel City London's book, published and distributed by the SAG to present the basic ideas of anarchism)
