antimilitarist event at the Casa del Popolo "25 Aprile" in Florence.

between politically different entities, but practicing a common method:

It is crucial to give primary importance to the interlocutor, 
individual, citizen and to leverage his humanity and willingness to 
participate, to propose to him to carry out actions that fall within the 
power of everyone, without needing to be heroes.

If we are talking about workers involved in the weapons, design, 
construction, logistics supply chain, it is necessary to collectively 
address the issue of refusal-objection, of productive conversion, 
because it is inhumane to be indifferent accomplices of killing and 
destruction.

If we are talking about young people, women and men, they too will have 
to reflect together on an increasingly imminent compulsory military 
service that will force them to enter a war dynamic, where their life 
will be in the hands of an unquestionable commander who, as reservists 
and non-professionals, will consider them cannon fodder.

Objectors, draft dodgers, deserters, are the main danger for warmongers 
and their significant number makes wars less practicable, in ways and times.

The antimilitarist practice against every instrument of war needs to 
spread the message of active pacifism in every territory occupied by 
barracks, factories, bases, shooting ranges, etc.; and even those who 
continue to hope in the institutions, delegating them to cease fire, sit 
at a table, reform armies as the military describe them when they go to 
schools to sweet talk the young, will have to see in the antimilitarist 
utopia a concrete practice to achieve and preserve peace in the world.

The two-day event in Florence will see two debates. One on November 2nd 
at 5 pm on the antimilitarist practice, the other on November 3rd at 11 
am with workers already engaged in obstructing the logistics of weapons 
systems: dockers from Genoa and Livorno, railway workers and scientists 
against war.
