Date Wed, 16 Oct 2024 08:50:34 +0300

Sharepic for the event on October 3rd, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Black Pigeon. The cover of the book is shown. The cover says: "Political Theory of Anarchism" Next to it are the lecture dates "Lecture with the author" ---- What terms can be used to describe anarchist ideas? What characteristics and criteria do anarchist theories have? What benefits can we derive from theory in connection with anarchist ethics and organization?

After many years of work, I have finally published my doctoral thesis on the political theory of anarchism. I would like to present some of the content, tell you about the experiences I have had at the interface between science and anarchism, and explain to you why I published the book with an academic publisher.

Theoretical work no longer has to take place only at universities and have an academic form - and yet we need it in order to reflect, strengthen ourselves, and act in a goal-oriented manner. That's why I would also like to talk to you about whether it is worth bringing anarchist ideas to a wider public - and how we can do this without selling out and betraying our principles.

Jonathan has been giving events on his topics for several years and blogs on paradox-a.de. The book mentioned is available here with open access: https://www.transcript-verlag.de/978-3-8376-7183-4/politische-theorie-des-anarchismus

Information on the accessibility of the lecture
This is a lecture that is more of a relaxed narrative. Afterwards there can be a joint discussion.
The speaker is a specialist in the topic. Political theory as a subject is nevertheless relatively abstract for many. It is probably very specialized for many. However, those who have been dealing with anarchist theory for a long time will also be able to make the connections to everyday life. There is no specific content warning. However, the lecture requires a longer period of sitting. The speaker doesn't mind if people stand up in between.

Information about the room
The room is open from 6 p.m. and the event starts at 6:15 p.m. and is scheduled for about 2-3 hours. The content is free of charge, there is no food, but cold and hot drinks can be bought on site. You can also bring your own food and drinks. The Black Pigeon (Scharnhorststraße 50, 44147 Dortmund) is wheelchair accessible. German is spoken, English is available as a whisper translation on request, please announce your needs in advance by email to (agdo@riseup.net). The venue can be reached from the main station by subway (Hafen stop, U47 Westerfilde or U49 Hafen).
