(en) France, UCL - Revolutionary solidarity with the women and strikers of Iran! (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Wed, 25 Oct 2023 09:21:56 +0300

On this September 16, 2023, one year after the feminicide of Jîna Mahsa Aminî in Iran by the moral police, we, activists of the Libertarian Communist Union gathered in federal coordination in Grenoble, reiterate our feminist and internationalist support for Iranian women in struggles and strikers on this day of mobilization in Iran. ---- On September 16, 2022, Jîna Mahsa Aminî, a 22-year-old young Iranian Kurdish woman, was murdered by the Tehran morality police after being arrested and tortured for "wearing inappropriate clothing" revealing her hair. Jîna suffered the double violence of patriarchy and the repression of the Iranian state against the Kurdish community.

This femicide led to a revolutionary wave in the country, in Tehran and more particularly in the regions of Rojhilat (Iranian Kurdistan) and Baluchistan, both the poorest and the first victims of the nationalist and imperialist policy of the Iranian state. . From now on, Iranian society is being built against the Islamic Republic and against the State. This movement embodies the failure of decades of ethnic and social divisions exacerbated by power and the rise of new links between oppressed minorities. In all these communities, it is women who are on the offensive against the criminal alliance of patriarchy, the religious fundamentalist state and capitalism. They are the spearhead of the "Woman, Life, Freedom" revolution which has radically transformed Iranian society and its values.

The capture of oil wealth by the Iranian state and capitalists also fuels legitimate popular anger.

The Iranian regime can only hold on through violence. A year later, he continues his bloody repression against women, Kurds, Baluchis and all political opponents of his authoritarian and reactionary project. The families of those detained or murdered were victims of arbitrary arrests and prohibitions from gathering for the commemoration of Jîna's murder. On this anniversary of the start of the uprisings, six Kurdish organizations in Iran called for a general strike on September 16, 2023 in Kurdistan and Iran, inviting all revolutionaries and progressives from abroad to support it in all ways possible.

In solidarity, the Libertarian Communist Union condemns the repression and crimes of the Iranian state, particularly against women in their struggles for democracy and freedom. We support all women oppressed by the Iranian regime and all their actions aimed at destroying it. We all support all the workers on strike today in Iran. This revolutionary perspective brings hope for all the people of the Middle East.

When women stand up, people move forward. Long live the women's revolution, in Iran and all over the world! Justice for Jîna! Jin Jiyan Azadi!
