       INDIANA PRISONER UNDER ATTACK :

  During my 13 years of incarceration, there have been 
a small number of men I consider true comrads. Kieran
E. Daniels is one such brother. Because of the
Indiana D.O.C. policy of isolating companionable and
politically aware inmates (similar to the slaveholder
practice of destroying or polluting slave families), I have
been separated from him. 
   Kieran E. Daniels has been locked up since 1986. He has 
spent much of this time on segregation or control units, and is
presently at the Indiana Youth Center. Some years back, he was
viciously waterhosed by prison pigs at the Pendleton Correctional
Facility on the D/S unit. He suffered a severe injury to his left
eye, nerve damage in one of his hands, and is subject to debilitating
migraine headaches.
   Approximately 30 days ago, the D.O.C. offered him a settlement
with financial compensation and early release. About three days before
all the arrrangements had been completed, the state launched an attack
on this brother. 
   After a visit by his sister Natalie and her children, the state moved
on him, alleging trafficking. Keep in mind that he was only days from
being released. Is it likely that he would jeopardize his freedom by
engaging in such a scheme? I don't think so.
   He has been placed on non-contact status and his sister is barred from
entering the prison. She has been sent a leter stating that she is
under investigation.
   It appears to me that the Indiana D.O.C. has launched a campaign
to isolate us from our families. In a six-month period FIVE of my
comrads have had all their contact visits taken. On Feb 16, 1998, I
was done the exact same way. I've been on non-contact status for
90 days, despite the absence of ANY evidence to validate such a
sanction. I am convinced that this is poliotically motivated and pre-
meditated harassment by staff.
   My brother Kieran has experienced some of the same emotional
sufferings as has befallen me. He, like me, lost his mother during his
imprisonment.
   I request that all freedom-loving people send Kieran a letter or
call the facility to monitor his health. I want him to know that we
