Vancouver, Coast Salish Territory, May 16th

At approximately 1am last night, May 15th, 5 students, in an
expression of solidarity with the student movement and those murdered in
Indonesia, converged on the Indonesian Consulate in Vancouver, located
at 1455 W Georgia. They proceeded to write a number of messages directed
at the Indonesians themselves. These included: "play hard, study hard,
die hard", "study today, riot tomorrow", "Jakrta burns, its the students
turn", "first Sukarno then Suharto" (referring to the deposition - what
about George Macloud?), a Nike swoosh with the word "riot" underneath,
and "saya tidak tahu" - Indonesian for "I don't understand".

The students were stopped and confronted by no other than the
president of the UBC chapter of Amnesty International, who proceeded to
harass and push one of the 'vandals.' No arressts were made, and one can
of spraypaint was lost.

The students call for others world-wide to "bomb" Indonesian
consulates in their cities, or pursue other actions, whether more or
less radical.
