FOR NVIC SUPPORTERS
 Dear Friend of NVIC,
 
Federal health officials in Washington are about to activate-a nationwide government vaccination tracking system. You and your child will be tagged and tracked using your Social Security Numbers and birth records. If you or your child are not vaccinated with all government-recommended vaccines, you may suffer harsh consequences in the future, including:
 
 
* Daycare - REFUSED
* Health Insurance - REFUSED
* Employment - REFUSED
* Right to travel - REFUSED
* School entry - REFUSED
* Child tax deduction - REFUSED
* Drivers License - REFUSED
* Hospital admittance - REFUSED
 
Some parents have already been punished for making independent health care choices, including carefully weighing the safety and effectiveness of the ten different vaccines the government now recommends, and deciding to protect their children from certain vaccines they consider either unsafe or unnecessary. I realize the tone of this letter is very direct, but the situation is urgent. I am asking you to act today. You can help me and NVIC FIGHT this government tracking system:

The National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC) will hold a public hearing here in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, May 13th. I will make a formal presentation at this hearing.
I must have your signed PETITION as soon as possible. At the hearing, I will present as many PETITIONS as I can collect by May 13th to prove to these federal government health officials that there are thousands of concerned parents who love and care for their children -but who think that a computerized, national vaccine tracking system is a bad idea. I will deliver additional PETITIONS in connection with future hearings.
Please don't waste a single minute. Please sign your PETITION and mail, fax or it back to me at NVIC today.
"Immunization Registries" have already been set up by the state governments in more than half of the states and will be linked together to form a national vaccination tracking registry. The plan will require you and your child to be automatically enrolled in this computerized, electronic, government "Immunization Registry."
Some parents have already been charged with child abuse or neglect by government officials for refusing to vaccinate with all government required vaccines. Their children have been excluded from daycare, elementary school, and college. Others have had their children denied health insurance by HMOs.
The national "Immunization Registry" will make it even easier for government officials to punish those who make independent health care decisions for themselves and their families.
Our NVIC newsletters and other mailings have detailed the growth of this threat to family privacy and children's health since it was originally proposed by the Clinton Administration. In fact, this is not the first time NVIC has fought against a national "Immunization Registry."
In 1992, candidate Bill Clinton proposed a universal national health care system for the United States. As soon as he was elected, he and his wife began a tireless campaign to have their government health care program passed into law. One of its more controversial proposals would have required you and your child, and every other American, to carry a government identification card with your entire health history on it, including vaccination status. Fortunately, the people rose up in opposition to government-run health care. The Clinton plan was defeated.
However, as NVIC has been pointing out in our newsletters, books, special reports, information packets, and public appearances, there has been a steady drumbeat from Health Secretary Donna Shalala and officials at the Centers for Disease Control in favor of government programs that limit your choices-and your rights-in health care. When it comes to mandatory vaccination, and government programs to inject more and more vaccines into our children, the government health officials and the politicians have never let up for a moment.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to "pick on" the Clinton Administration.  Politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle generally do not understand how their actions on this issue can endanger the health and the lives of the little children they are supposed to represent. In fact, when the Clinton Administration made the original announcement about its plan for a nationwide, government vaccination tracking system in early 1993, Health Secretary Donna Shalala said:
"This is an attempt to immunize every preschool child, not just poor children."
However, here was the response from a prominent Republican Senator:
"We should target limited resources to areas where we can do more good, namely improving vaccine delivery."
Among the politicians, there wasn't even any serious disagreement. And it was almost like OUR side of the story wasn't even being discussed in that debate. Meanwhile, the Vaccine Industry has continued to lead doctors, teachers, parents, health officials, politicians, and the general public to believe that mandatory vaccinations are the only way to fight dangerous illnesses.
Sadly, many public officials still know very little about the growing number of concerned parents, enlightened physicians, and other citizens like you and me, who believe that mandatory mass vaccination programs are the wrong answer to America's public health concerns. You and I must stand up and remind these politicians that privacy, choice, and informed consent are at the heart of the health care system in our country, even when it comes to vaccines.
But no one is going to fight this battle for us.
Since NVIC was founded sixteen years ago, we have worked tirelessly to get our message out to the American people, to save children from vaccine injury and death, and to defend the right to informed consent to vaccinations for all citizens. But NVIC has only been successful because-of-good people like you in all 50 states who cared enough to join and give your support to our efforts.
As NVIC has grown, we have become the nation's leading advocate for parents and families who want the right to take a different approach to the government's mandated vaccination policies at the state and federal levels.  And now it is time to take the next step in NVIC's growth as a well-respected advocate for parents and children. It is time to SHOW the officials in Washington that we mean business. It is time to PROVE to the-politicians that they must listen to our concerns.
But I cannot do that without you.

Please get your PETITION back to me before the May 13th hearing if at all possible. You can also help if you get your PETITION back to me in time for the June and July hearings in San Francisco and Chicago. I will also present these PETITIONS to Congress by May 29th.
And eventually, to STOP the tracking system, we will have to appeal directly to the people through the media, in state legislatures, and before Congress.  In order to do this, we must have more people to help us fight.
It costs NVIC about 53 cents to print and mail out each petition. You can help me contact 18 more people with a gift of $10. A gift of $25 helps us reach 47 more people. This is an important opportunity for NVIC to spread the word, and I feel sure you will help us if you can.

CITIZEN'S PETITION TO
THE NATIONAL VACCINE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Whereas, vaccines can cause injuries and deaths, a reality which
was acknowledged by Congress when it passed the National Childhood
Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 and created a federal compensation
system for children and adults who have been severely injured by
mandated vaccines; and
Whereas, the National Vaccine Advisory Committee has worked with
federal and state government officials to require proof that 10
vaccines have been administered to a citizen as a pre-condition to
enter daycare, elementary school, high school or college or to
receive medical care, health insurance and basic social services;
and
Whereas, the National Vaccine Advisory Committee is working with
federal health officials and vaccine manufacturers to develop more
than 200 vaccines, including an AIDS vaccine, many of which will
be recommended by government officials for required use by all
citizens; and
Whereas, the National Vaccine Advisory Committee has worked with
government officials and vaccine manufacturers to set up
"Immunization Registries" in states that will become part of a
national, government-run, electronic tracking system to monitor
every citizen's health care records; and
Whereas, this national vaccine tracking system will automatically
enroll all citizens without their prior written consent and will
contain medical and other personal identifying information
including but not limited to a citizen's Social Security Number,
name, address, date of birth, sex, and name of parent, which can
be shared with government officials, health insurance carriers,
schools and other third parties such as international health
officials; and
Whereas, this national vaccine tracking system is a fundamental
violation of privacy and civil liberties which can serve to limit
health care options and threaten the human right to informed
consent to medical procedures which can cause injury or death; and
Whereas, information contained in this national vaccine tracking system can be used to discriminate against and economically or socially punish loving, conscientious parents and their children if they do not conform with every government recommended health care policy;
Now, Therefore, I call upon the National Vaccine Advisory Committee to act to modify the current "Immunization Registry" proposal to require a citizen's prior written consent to be enrolled in any vaccine tracking system and to protect a citizen's right to make informed, voluntary health care decisions, including vaccination decisions, without being subjected to economic or other punitive sanctions by the government.
