Racist Centerdemocrats lose all seats at Dutch parliamentary elections

Today the Netherlands saw their parliamentary elections. The racist 'Centrumdemocraten' lost all of their three seats in parliament. This opens the way for a reshuffeling in the extreme right: the new-right Forepost will soon become the leading force.

After the CD lost all but one of their seats in March's lokal elections they today lost al seats in parliament. A reason for happiness, at first sight. The continuous inn-fighting, pressure from antifascists and the rest of society and foremost the scandals involving harddrugs and violence have done their work. The active extreme-right today are five fighting parties. Only two have, both one, council seat.

But the final exit of the CD also means the exit of one man who has dominated the far right for almost twenty years. Party leader Hans Janmaat is the face of hate in Holland. But Janmaat is also the face of inn fighting. His total control of the CD, and the systematic removal of all opposition against his leadership have kept this one big racist party small. Now that Janmaat no longer is the face of the extreme right, a reshuffeling can take place.

Flemish Block leader DeWinter has already been back to Holland after he promised in 1992 never to get messed up in the Dutch quarrels again. He supports the group that Dutch antifascist intelligence say will become a leading force: 'Voorpost'. Voorpost is a Flemish-Dutch cooperation. The Dutch leadership was recently taken over by two of those scarse clever national-socialists Tim Mudde and Marcel Rueter. Rueter wants a far right restart after the forming of cadre and starting to infiltrate the intellectual debate. He also welcomes the exit of Hans Janmaat because Janmaat is so well known that no far right competition has a chance of breaking through.

In the next time the CD will still play a role. Also some openly national-socialist groupuscules will stay active. But all those extremists who want to break through, who want a respectable face will turn toward Voorpost.

For now, antifascists can celebrate at the loss of Janmaat. But tomorrow we will still have work to do. Our new main opponent we already know, it is Voorpost with its intellectual approach and its cadre building.

The right wing liberals have their best result ever. Part of it comes from playing the anti-immigration card. The progressive liberals were cut in two. The Cristian democrats keep losing. The green-left and socialist parties were more than doubled. And offcourse the social democrats win. This means Holland will again get a socalled 'purple' kabinet of PvdA, VVD and D'66.
