Military folk don't just aim to kill humans who fail to behave!!
I heard about this over a week ago, but only just hit on authoritative
info. I hope it's not too late to get the word out.

MESSAGE FOLLOWS:
L F A Sonar (Low Frequency Active Sonar) testing is to begin by the
Navy on Feb 25 off the Northwest coast of the Big Island of Hawaii
(Hawaii Nui), right in the heart of the Humpback Whale birthing and
breeding season, and last 4 weeks.
For those of you that don't know what LFA Sonar (as we didn't until
last Sat when we were told what the Navy is up to) see the National
Resources Defence Council's web site nrdcinfo@nrd.org
In a nutshell, the tests consist of blasting whales and any other
marine life within the area with sounds up to 230db. This is, I have
been told, up to 100 times that a 747 makes on takeoff. Also remember
the whales' primary sense is not sight like us, but hearing.
It is not an accident that the Navy has chosen that location or this
time of year as they are specifically bombarding singing adult
Humpback whales with extremely loud sound to see the effects. It's
intentionally designed to see what the disruption will be.
They only lack a permit from the State of Hawaii Department of Land
and Natural Resources (DNLR), who's Chairman, Mike Wilson, is to rule
on shortly.
The Navy has asked Mr Wilson for immunity from any and all damage
(deaths) they may produce.
This is our one and only chance to stop or at least delay these tests
until all interested parties have had a chance to give their
viewpoints.
Please help us! We are only a very small non-profit group (only 7 members
and $230 in the bank) called I.C.E.R.C.H. (International Cetacean Education
and Research Center, Hawaii). Up till now we've only put on a public
education "Whale Day" and taken kids out on whale watches. We need help!!!

Sample Response:
Dear Sirs,
As a member of the Cetacean Ambassador Network, I strongly object to the
Navy's proposed sonic experiments in the birthing grounds of the Humpback
whales. If these types of experiments must be done, couldn't we do this at a
time other than their prime birthing season?
If humans are unable to demonstrate respect for other large brained evolved
species on this planet such as the humpback whales, perhaps we deserve the
fate we are creating for ourselves.
Do not grant permits for this unethical and disrespectful experiment.
Sincerely,
