background info:

Last fall police systematically strip-searched the women arrested for
protesting APEC, not the men. We believe this was done with the
purpose of intimidating women from political action. There is a long
history and many incidents of police intimidation of groups and
individuals who voice their beliefs in Canada as well as all over the
world. This is exemplified by the actions of the police in Vancouver's
downtown eastside.

In solidarity with the women who were stripsearched for opposing APEC
in November, and all others who have experienced political
intimidation, WO-PIG! (Women Oppose Political Intimi dation Group) is
organizing a gathering to acknowledge political intimidation by the
police of all those who speak out against the system, and to show that
we will not be silenced by these tactics.

Please join us on February 21 at Oppenheimer Park. The event will
include speakers from various communities, theatre and music. These
will be followed by a journey to the pre- trial centre at Main &
Cordova where the event will continue.

Childcare available.
